In principle, you should be able to get all the information on the web. There are about 4 hotels
in Nova Gorica and 4 more in the close vicinity. There is also a
hostel, open only Friday through Sunday.
There are some more private accomodations around the area, but only one is within walking distance.
There are more hotels in the Italian part of the town, but only Transalpina is convenient both in terms of its location and price.
We'll organize some some CRASH SPACE - first come first served. Each one of us has some spare beds/sofas, but remember, if you want crash space, act quickly, send us an email now.
Be sure to arrange an accomodation before coming to Nova Gorica, here is a list of possible places. To facilitate your decision, we made this map of Nova Gorica with all the important places marked (the blue and the red line represent two bus lines). The hostel is located in the center of the town, a 5 minute walk from the bus station. It is definitely the most convenient place.
But it is only available from Friday 6pm to Sunday 3pm (Monday-Friday it is a high school dormitory), so if you plan to arrive on Thursday, you'd need to either spend one night in one of the hotels or alternatively spend one night sleeping in a sleeping bag at one of the crash space providers. If you decide for this option, be sure to let us know beforehand that you need a spot on the floor.
Prices are from 15 eur (bed in a triple room) to 24 eur (a single room with a bathroom) plus an optional 2 eur for breakfast.

Presta is a dorm like hotel. It is convenient both in terms of location and price (single room 20.54&euro, double room 32.40&euro). But it has very low capacity. Act quickly! You can only book through the phone, and the office is only open till 2 p.m. (presumably only on work days), and you may have to call more than once to find the person in the office; they say they speak limited English, so have some patience (but they speak Italian and Serbo-Croatian).
Hotel Sabotin is located in Solkan/the north part of Nova Gorica (a 20-minute walk from the town center and conference site). There are free day and night busses connecting Solkan and the town center. Prices are from 28 eur per person in a 4-bed room up to 46 eur for a single room (breakfast is included).
Hotel Transalpina is located on the square right in front of the Nova Gorica railway station. The hotel is in Italy (i.e. in Gorizia/Gorica) and the railway station is in Slovenia (i.e. in Nova Gorica); since Italy and Slovenia are both in the Schengen area, there is no check point and you do not need any documents to cross the border (you might not even notice it). The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the town center and conference site.
This is a small place with only a few rooms (2 single, 2 double and 1 triple room). Prices are from 22 eur for a single room up to 47 for a 3-bed room (breakfast is not included). There's a free city bus every hour connecting this place with the town center/conference site (otherwise, it's a 30-minute walk, 2.3 km according to googlemaps). In the morning, the bus would be a convenient option, but in the evening, the last bus from the town center to this place is around 8 p.m., so after that, you will have to walk or take a taxi.
Hotel Lipa is located in Šempeter. There are day and night free busses connecting Šempeter with Nova Gorica. Prices are from 28 eur per person in a 4-bed room up to 46 eur for a single room (breakfast is included).
Other potentially interesting places (if you have money to spend):
Perla is the biggest hotel in town, located in the center of Nova Gorica. It is also the location of a large casino, which hosts a lot of entertainment. The prices are approximately twice as high as in Hotel Sabotin, Hotel Transalpina and Hotel Lipa (100 eur for a single room, 70 eur per person for a double), but if you are feeling lucky ...
Hotel Park is also located in the center of Nova Gorica (right next to the bus station). It also hosts a casino and is in the same price range as Perla.
